Hello! My name is Alex and I’m the voice behind Skellys on the Go. I’m a wife to my husband, David, and a mother to our one-year-old daughter, who I will refer to as baby “C”. Our home is in Kansas City, USA, where we enjoy Chiefs football, barbecue, and the friendly, smiling faces of Midwesterners 🙂
David and I have always enjoyed taking trips together as a couple, but once our daughter arrived, we quickly realized that if we didn’t prioritize travel in our lives, time would surely pass us by! Life is too short and the world is too wide for us to wait for her to turn the “perfect” travel age. We went on our first trip together when she was 7 months old: a 9-night Caribbean cruise with our extended family (read about it here!). Figuring out that first flight, hotel room, and cruise cabin felt daunting in the beginning, but it didn’t take long for us to find our groove. This experience gave us encouragement that we actually CAN still travel with kids, and it is still so memorable and worthwhile!
As the years go by, I imagine our family travel experiences will be ever evolving. I wanted to create this blog to capture our special (and perhaps not so special!) moments and to share what worked (or flopped) for us. It is my hope that whoever stumbles across this blog will find something useful or inspiring to help them on their own adventures! We still have so much to learn about the world and how to navigate it, but –
